Cis-Acting Lnc-Cxcl2 Restrains Neutrophil-Mediated Lung Inflammation by Inhibiting Epithelial Cell CXCL2 Expression in Virus Infection
[Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America] Scientists identified an inducible lncRNA in the Cxcl2 gene locus, lnc-Cxcl2, which could selectively inhibit Cxcl2 expression in mouse lung epithelial cells but not in macrophages.

Exosomes Secreted by M2 Macrophages Promote Cancer Stemness of Hepatocellular Carcinoma via the miR-27a-3p/TXNIP Pathways
[International Immunopharmacology] Investigators explored the role of M2 exosomal miR-27a-3p in the cancer stemness of hepatocellular carcinoma via regulating thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP).

Tubular Lysosomes Harbor Active Ion Gradients and Poise Macrophages for Phagocytosis
[Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America] Investigators described a DNA-based assembly that tubulated lysosomes in macrophages without activating them. Proteolytic activity maps at single-lysosome resolution revealed that tubular lysosomes were less degradative and showed proximal to distal luminal pH and Ca2+ gradients.

PI3Kγδ Inhibitor plus Radiation Enhances the Antitumor Immune Effect of PD-1 Blockade in Syngenic Murine Breast Cancer and Humanized Patient-Derived Xenograft Model
[European Journal of Cancer] Murine breast cancer cells were grown in both immune-competent and -deficient BALB/c mice, and tumors were irradiated by three fractions of 24 Gy. A PD-1 blockade and a phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)γδ inhibitor were then administered every other day for two weeks.

CD47-Targeted Cancer Immunogene Therapy: Secreted SIRPα-FC Fusion Protein Eradicates Tumors by Macrophage and NK Cell Activation
[Molecular Therapy-Oncolytics] Researchers developed a plasmid-vector encoding for the secreted fusion protein sCV1-hIgG1, comprising of highly efficient CD47-blocking moiety CV1 and Fc domain of human IgG1 with maximized immune activation.

RSV Infection-Elicited High MMP-12–Producing Macrophages Exacerbate Allergic Airway Inflammation with Neutrophil Infiltration
[iScience] Scientists showed that RSV-induced alveolar macrophages, which produced high levels of matrix metalloproteinase-12, exacerbated allergic airway inflammation with increased neutrophil infiltration.
