Scientists generated reactive oxygen species (ROS)-sensitive fluorescent sensors targeted to different subnuclear compartments in neonatal rat ventricular cardiomyocytes, which allowed them to determine the spatial localization of ROS in cardiomyocyte nuclei upon manipulation of mitochondrial respiration.
