MARCO⁺ Lymphatic Endothelial Cells Sequester Arthritogenic Alphaviruses to Limit Viremia and Viral Dissemination

Following subcutaneous inoculation, arthritogenic alphavirus particles drained via the lymph and were rapidly captured by MARCO+ lymphatic endothelial cells in the draining lymph node, limiting viral spread to the bloodstream.
