Noxic Effects of Polystyrene Microparticles on Murine Macrophages and Epithelial Cells

The authors studied the interaction of murine macrophages and intestinal epithelial cells with well-characterized poly(styrene) microplastic particles (MPP) of varying sizes and found that the epithelial cells did not ingest MPP in significant numbers.
