Extracellular PKM2 Facilitates Organ-Tissue Fibrosis Progression

The authors reported that myofibroblasts expressed and secreted PKM2. Extracellular PKM2 upregulated arginase-1 expression in myofibroblasts, therefore facilitating proline biosynthesis and subsequent collagen production.
