Using two chimeric mouse models, scientists demonstrated that the replacement of mutant LRRK2 with wild-type formed of the protein in T- and B-lymphocytes diminished LPS-mediated inflammation and rescued the substantia nigra pars compacta dopamine neuron loss in the mutant LRRK2 brain.
